The journey of HFH Auto Group started almost 30 years ago when Geoff Harris and Ross Freer purchased a small Toyota dealership in Berwick.
At that time Berwick was barely considered a fringe suburb of Melbourne, almost rural. The dealership was small with numerous local employees, some of whom are still with the dealership today.
In 2007 our current Director Jonathan Hardwick joined the group and quickly became Dealer Principal. Then in 2009 we welcomed Sam Freer, Ross Freer’s son, who is the General Manager of Berwick and Pakenham Toyota and is now a Director of HFH Auto Group.
In 2010 the name was changed from Harris Freer Toyota to Berwick Toyota, that same year Pakenham Toyota was built. This was the first dealership built out in the new industrial area, which now is a thriving dealership hub that shares the site with Pakenham Ford.
In 2013 the original Harris Freer group acquired 2 additional local dealerships Berwick Volkswagen and David Nutter Ford, which was renamed Berwick Ford & Pakenham Ford.
2015 saw the opening of Berwick Jaguar Land Rover, from here the new HFH Auto Group was created.
In December 2018, we welcomed Lexus of Berwick to our group, based on corner of Clyde Road and Princes Highway in the heart of Berwick.
In February 2020 we acquired Frankston Toyota, Cranbourne Toyota and Peninsula Skoda – this is our biggest acquisition to date. December 2020 we welcomed Berwick Mazda to the. The group now employs over 480 employees, many of whom have worked for the business’s for over 10 years and live locally.
December 2020 we welcomed Berwick Mazda and in October 2021 we welcomed Mornington & Rosebud Toyota. The group employess close to 500 employees
As a group we pride ourselves on being a family-owned business, who not only employ local people but also give back to the community, with numerous sponsorships of local sporting clubs, schools and charities.
The owners and staff all lead by our Mission 100 statement. Mission 100 defines our vision – to be the best automotive organisation in the country, by consistently striving to deliver 100% guest satisfaction, to 100% of our guests, 100% of the time. Where employees are engaged; the community is served; and our business reputation is infused with integrity and fun!
Testimonials
Ms. Tracy Day
Recommended Dealer
As soon as I walked in the door at Toyota Pakenham, I was approached by David Holz. An extraordinarily professional, friendly and genuine person. He listened to what I was looking for and I felt he truly had my best interest. I had visited several other Toyota dealerships and received no where this service which resulted me walking out. David made the process easy. This is why I purchased from Toyota Pakenham.
